OWEN ACCLAIMS RED DEVILS
After his 3 goals which gave Manchester United FC the first place in Group B of UEFA Champions League, Michael Owen told uefa.com that the applause go to his companions for having "simplified his life".
"Playing for some teams gives you many occasions, and Manchester is one of those. Scoring is another thing, perhaps the most difficult thing of a game, but given the quality of my team mates it gets easier. There were many young people on the bench and it was important that if they entered the camp, they felt in control. For the more experienced it was important to play well tonight and that's what happened. We are happy to have closed group at the first position, because we play the return home, even if we do not know against whom. However we will avoid some of the best teams."
